Obama and Paying Taxes

Well, I'm glad Obama won. I'm not naive enough to think that my taxes won't go up. I'm sure they will. However, I'd rather pay higher taxes under Obama than under Romney.  I think Romney would have reverted to the old ways of Reagan and the Bushes.  I think that's what got us into the economic mess to begin with. Maybe I'm wrong, but time will tell.

Some folks from the Republican party are wondering "What happened?"
Well, they are obviously out of touch with the current US.  The minorities ( blacks and hispanics) are a noteworthy force today.  The US has always been a nation of immigrants.  Those immigrants have note always been welcomed. There was a lot of prejudice against the Germans, Polish, Irish and Italians when they immigrated in large numbers.  They also brought about changes in our culture.

I think the Republicans have to face the fact that the US population is a dynamic thing. It changes and will keep changing.  The ideas and values change as well. And that is how it should be!

The Human Soul

Thoughts on the Human Soul

Okay, if I go on the premise that the human soul actually exists, then some interesting questions come up.
1) Does the soul reside in just one part of the body or is it spread throughout the body?
2) If it is in one part of the body, which part?  I guess most people would say the heart or the brain.
3) If it is spread throughout the body, then... if you bleed, loose a tooth or have an amputation, do you lose part of your soul?  If it happens enough, is your soul somehow diminished?
4) If the soul is in your brain, then do you have a soul before your brain develops?
5) If your soul is in your heart, what happens if you get a heart transplant? Do your old soul die and get replaced by a new soul? Did the person who donated their heart, lose their soul?
6) If the soul is created at conception, do identical twins share a soul and each have half a soul?

Just wondering...

THEO-NAZIS

Watch out! The THEO-NAZIS are coming!

Actually, I guess the theo-nazis have been here for a while. You can spot them pretty easily, they have a flag waving in one hand and they're holding a Bible in the other hand.  Sometimes, they may have a Koran or Torah in the other hand. Of course, the flag changes with the country.

These people are so dangerous to the general population. Most of them feel that there is a conspiracy against them and their values and want to eradicate anyone who doesn't believe as they do.

Here is the US it is mostly the far right Republicans who fit this description.

What's troubling is that this type of individual seems to be growing in numbers and volume.  It's downright scary!  They usually wind up with a mob mentality - where they think they can do just about anything they want.

Joshua

Bloodthirsty Joshua

The first leader to take over after Moses passed was Joshua. He was Moses's assistant and one of the 12 spies that Moses sent out to scout out Canaan, probably trying to assess the likelihood of invading it and taking it over.  Moses had planned his Exodus from Egypt and knew that he would have to build an army and then find a place to live.  Moses part was building the army... and he did a good job. He wound up with about 8000 soldiers made up of Israelites and peripheral groups that joined the cause.

Joshua turned out to be a brilliant military strategist, but he was also demonic in his treatment of his enemies. His first attack was on Jericho - a small city with only about 800 soldiers - no match for Joshua's force of 8000.  When he defeated Jericho, he carried out an invasion in which his men were ordered to kill everything that breathed. So, women, children, dogs, cattle, birds, and any other breathing creature was put to the sword.

The people he was attacking and slaughtering had done nothing to him. They just had the bad luck to be living in the area that God had promised to the Jews.  The area that Moses carefully scouted out, so God knew just which area to give them.  Actually, it sounds similar to Hitler's attempts at expansion.

This is the God that everyone today thinks is so loving and kind! Ha. What a load of bull!

Thoughts on Gas and Oil Prices

Gas prices are climbing and people are not happy with the current administration.  So, who controls the gas prices? Many people agree that it is due to the price of crude oil from the Middle East.  Well, why would the Middle East want Obama out?  After all, the Republicans are in favor or using more of our own oil reserves and less of the foreign reserves. Obama, he wants us to end our dependency on oil altogether.  Which is more dangerous for the Middle East? A reduced market (Republican platform) or no market (Democratic platform)? Obviously, they want Obama out.  The oil suppliers of the Middle East have plenty of money and time. They can wait... as long as we still depend on oil, they have a chance. On further thought, this reasoning also holds for our own domestic oil companies.

Obama and Birth Control

I agree with the current administration and think that women should have contraception as an option through their insurance.   The Obama administration excludes about 335,000 religious organizations from this rule already.  However, they want to add that the organizations should refer the women to someplace that does provide help with contraception.  The Catholic Church is the main objector to this - big surprise.  The church tries to site the "founding fathers" for support. They actually believed in a very strong separation of church and state. Visit this link for more details...
